Goods & Services is an Indirect Tax which is levied by the Government under the Finance Act. It is collected by Goods/Service Provider on behalf of the Government. In certain cases the Goods/Service Recipient has to collect Goods & Services Tax and deposit it with the Government.
Goods & Services Tax Registration is required when the value of services rendered exceed Rs. 40 Lakhs. (20 Lakhs in case of Hills and North Eastern States
The rate of Goods & Services Tax at present varies from 0% to 18% of the value of Goods/Services. Returns for Goods & Services tax need to be filed monthly/quarterly yearly by 10th of following month. Annual Returns are also required to be filed
